Re: Bluehinter's Free 3-D printable 5" scale figures & vehicles (Got a printer? Print your own customs!)

http://www.strangecult.com/sa/who_toys/quarks_painted.JPG Here's another group of prototypes that have been sitting around in the garage waiting for much-needed paint jobs for the last 6 months. All four of the Quarks above have something wrong with them. Two are slightly warped, one lost it's lowe...

Re: Bluehinter's Free 3-D printable 5" scale figures & vehicles (Got a printer? Print your own customs!)

I was wondering when you'd get around to mentioning these. :) And that "guy" is Al Dewar himself, the man inside CO behind the whole Doctor Who line. (Well, more or less.) Point is, if Al's releasing them, it means we have CO's unofficial blessing to do with them as we will. I didn't put ...

Re: Bluehinter's Free 3-D printable 5" scale figures & vehicles (Got a printer? Print your own customs!)

I've been sitting on this news for the past week, because I didn't want to spread rumors that could turn out to be a hot air, but a guy over on Gallifrey Base says he's got CAD files for some designs that were created for (but ultimately passed on by) Character Options, and he'll be posting them soo...

Re: KMCUSTOMS | Vincent Van Gogh | Titans REPAINT

Incredible. There aren't that many new series figures that I'm interested in, but if this was a real off-the-shelf product, I'd totally buy one!

Re: Bluehinter's Free 3-D printable 5" scale figures & vehicles (Got a printer? Print your own customs!)

Finally finished painting the SIDRATs that have been sitting out in the garage since December. The one on the left has the old style door that doesn't pull in and out as smoothly (and can be pulled out entirely if you aren't careful). The one on the right is the reprint which has rare earth magnets ...

http://www.strangecult.com/sa/who_toys/WIP196.JPG Hmm.... The two sides of the console that were printed diagonally came out a little messier than I’d have liked. I’m going to try a reprint with each panel printed separately (and lined up so that the printhead has to mostly only move side to side t...

Re: Bluehinter's Free 3-D printable 5" scale figures & vehicles (Got a printer? Print your own customs!)

Smaller than I thought. Still a big footprint for most shelves, but not insane. Hmm... I wonder how many hundreds of dollars it would cost to print it in resin. The biggest obstacle to printing in resin is that most of the non-commercial resin printers released before this year have a max print are...

Re: B&M 2019

At this point, I just hope it's anything other than another repaint of the Doctor, Brigadier, or Jo Grant.

The bar for CO figure announcements has been set so low in the last four years, you'd need to be one of the boneless to get under it.

skifflebits wrote:Wow! How big is the final piece going to be all in all?

Somewhere around 15" by 20". And that's slightly flubbing the scale a bit, but nowhere nearly as bad as the official CO scale console rooms have.

http://www.strangecult.com/sa/who_toys/WIP191.JPG http://www.strangecult.com/sa/who_toys/WIP192.JPG I'm about ready to start adding detail discoloration to the TARDIS arches. I also started painting some SIDRATs and Dalek Transmats, since we're about to start entering the god-awful California summe...
