Re: Some Clever Reference's 3D Printable TARDISes (and Occasional Customs)
I eagerly look forward to seeing this in action. Be warned about the Gobrix motors - they have zero torque. I tried to use them for my War Machine and could just barely get enough movement out of two motors running simultaneously to make it trundle forward very slowly (after multiple failed attempts...

Re: Bluehinter's Free 3-D printable 5" scale figures & vehicles (Got a printer? Print your own customs!)
Haven't been able to do as much design work lately as I'd like because of all my machine problems, but I did create tiny little functional control levers for the console! They'll be held in place with equally tiny 2mm screw from the underside of the console, and should pivot back and forth in their ...

Got the parts to repair the HD machine today and after replacing the heater (which needed replacing anyways since it's had a loose wire I've had wrapped in electrical tape for over a year) and thermistor (which had broken loose from it's metal casing, undoubted causing my "heater errors"),...

Re: Bluehinter's 3D Printable custom parts request thread - Movie Dalek bumper, TARDIS parts, etc.
Would you consider working up the Sontaran gun and helmet from "The Two Doctors?" Sure. If you or someone else actually need it for a custom you're actively working on, and intend to have it printed. Remember, I'm not just building stuff to be building stuff here. If so, I'll need precise...

I know they're not exactly simple, but the patterns on the side of the pandorica with the toy (at least the version that was widely released) were just printed onto the CDs. In the US they had moulded 3D pieces more accurate to the actual prop, but they're quite difficult to find now. Any chance yo...

Re: Bluehinter's Free 3-D printable 5" scale figures & vehicles (Got a printer? Print your own customs!)
Good news: Everything's fitting together beautifully, and the off-the-shelf 22mm acrylic tube I bought on eBay for the Time Rotor looks to be just the right dimensions. Bad news: My HD printer is still offline awaiting some basic parts, but my SD printer just self-destructed in a pretty major way. ...

http://www.strangecult.com/sa/who_toys/WIP172.JPG The first floor section printed fairly well on the SD printer, aside from a really odd discoloring effect from where it was in contact with the glass plate. I'm not sure if it's the filament itself, a chemical reaction to the hairspray, or what. It ...

Re: Some Clever Reference's 3D Printable TARDISes (and Occasional Customs)
I also use the rotate trick to add extra sides to cylinders. (There's a HD version of the sphere in the custom shapes if you dig down far enough, but not for the cylinder, which is annoying). I have a generic one that I've exported as an OBJ file and keep as an importable object, just so TinkerCAD d...

Re: Some Clever Reference's 3D Printable TARDISes (and Occasional Customs)
This particular model isn't even hard to do, it took me maybe 2 hours to finish the whole thing. It's literally just squares and cylinders, this is probably the easiest thing I'll ever make. Honestly Tinkercad is super easy to use, which makes it possible for even a moron like me to make things lik...

Wow, that's crazy. I can only imagine how big this is going to end up. Oh, somewhere around 24" across, 15" deep, and 16" tall. 8-) http://www.strangecult.com/sa/who_toys/look%20at%20the%20size%20of%20that%20thing.gif http://www.strangecult.com/sa/who_toys/yes%20Jamie.gif
