Re: Underrated/Overrated Stories

I'm also one of those: McCoy's Era falls flat with me. But really, some of that's down to execution. Agreed. And so much of what goes wrong with a lot of 80s Who is down to execution. I could go on, but I'll save it for another discussion. But to me, the McCoy era is one season's worth of stellar s...

Re: Theories and Conspiracies

I also like how Susan is explained with the Other theory. I obviously prefer her being the Doctor's grand daughter, but in the Cartmel story, she was the grand daughter of the Other, and the Doctor felt that she was his grand daughter and took her abord. Probably the only one who likes it, but eh. ...

Re: B&M doctor who sets.

Just realised I regret not picking up a second 4th Doctor Regen TARDIS whilst they were £10 cuz now I want to headswap one to have a Planet of the Spiders 3rd Doctor. Once Ive got all the sets I might get a second one if theres any left. I'm willing to bet you can pick up just the figure itself on ...

Re: Theories and Conspiracies

[*] Pulling one from the vaults, here: Would the "Cartmel Master Plan" have reconciled the "Morbius Doctors" back into canon? If in Cartmel's proposed backstory, the Doctor was a "re-looming" of a figure from the days of Rassilon and Omega, that would make all of those faces retconned as Omega's ba...

Re: Underrated/Overrated Stories

Controversial opinion: "The Beast Below" is actually quite good the second and third time around.

Re: Underrated/Overrated Stories

And regarding "Battlefield," I think the Special Edition takes a rather muddled and disappointing story and turns it into something pretty fun and worth the watch.

Re: Underrated/Overrated Stories

I'm actually a huge fan of "Revelation" (barring the DJ,) but you can't escape the fact that the Doctor does next to nothing in it beyond walk to Davros' lair just in time for the final showdown. "Vengeance on Varos" has a similar problem. The Doctor is stuck in the TARDIS for the first 25 minutes, ...

Re: Characters/Monsters You Want to Return, But Probably Never Will

Sil hasn't grown on my over the years, but I think he wouldn't be out of place in the New Series.

He's a villain with a context, a backstory, and a motivation beyond just "I will destroy you all!"
