Easy/Simple custom recipes

Post by Gek2Win »

It occurred to me that with the B&M repaints thread there's some untapped potential in regard to simple custom recipes. So, what ideas do you have for customs? It's like the repaints thread, but with more freedom. I'll start with a couple of obvious ones;

Jacobi Master - Yana w/beard, repaint/put on a suited body.

Regenerated 7th - 7th doctor head, repainted 6th doctor body.

What else can you think of? Or, in fact, have made?

I've done a Bill from Knock Knock and a 12 from The Lie of the Land which were straightforward repaints.

You could sculpt on his waistcoat but I just painted it on and it's sufficient enough for me.

I'll get round to posting pics at some point! :)

Is there a Yana figure with a beard?

Ha! :D

But seriously, have you ever actually tried painting eyes onto a 5" scale figure?

My experience was that it requires a level of detail and precision that could be fudgable on a metal gaming miniature, but not on that larger scale.

My results were... unsettling. :)

I’ve got it right *once* and it looked good. But that was probably more luck than judgement! :lol: I don’t have that any more, sadly, but hey ho. You’re right though, it is tricky.
