Beginners Guide : Ideas & Inspirations

Post by SJF » Thu Jun 13, 2019 1:25 pm

So I thought I’d get this thread started back up again with a recent idea I’ve had.

Recipe:

Body - Bill Potts
All you’d really need to do for the body is boil and pop the head, and then sculpt the neckline of her top a bit higher so it matches the picture. Then paint her t-shirt a dark blue/purple colour and do whatever you like with the waist down. You might need to make her skin tone slightly darker to match Yasmin Bannerman.

Head - Jabe
Now this is the tricky part. Thankfully Jabe's face looks completely humanoid and the only obstacle you need to get past is her big tree head. It’ll probably be difficult to cut her head down to a more humanoid looking shape, but it’s certainly possible with some determination and elbow grease. Plus once you sculpt the hair on, it should hide whatever havoc you have wreaked upon the top of her head. Again this might need a slight repaint of the skin tone to accurately desperate Yasmin’s actual skin and not the Tree prosthetics. And then the next problem you’ll face us trying to get the Jabe head on the Bill body and actually have it look half decent. Still, it’s not everyday we can say that we’ve actually got a headsculpt for an EU companion.

Clever.

Who is Roz Forrester?
She’s a companion of the Seventh Doctor Who initially appeared in the Virgin New Adventures books, and more recently has popped up in Big Finish in both Adaptations of the novels and also original stories, played by Yasmin Bannerman.

Her fellow companion is Chris Cwej, played by Travis Oliver (yes the guy from Gridlock) and they’re both Adjucators (the police officers from Colony in Space) and they basically start travelling with Seven and Benny after the uncovered a conspiracy and had to go on the run. Eventually Benny leaves and Seven is just travelling with the two of them. This is all post-Ace.

Hmmm... jacket and boots kinda make me think "Last of the Timelords" Martha, though the legs, even the pouches match a Primeval Helen Cutter figure. Vinyl wrap from one to the other? And the head with that haircut makes me think Jo Grant, as crazy as that is

I’d say definitely a Combat gear Martha body with an Axos Jo head.

Since I don't make customs often enough to have my own thread, I figured I'd post this here.
It's what I call my "Pretty Good Graham." It's not fantastic. The chin is too wide, for a start, but it was a (relatively) easy custom made from a Primeval Nick Cutter* body and the head from a Marcus Scarman figure, with a little filing and milliput added.

Like I said, not amazing, but it'll hold me until the proper CO Series 11 companions set comes out.

If it ever comes out.

*As a bonus, Nick Cutter came with giant spiders!!
