He's never battled the Daleks before...

theres that time he shot one in the eye with his auton hand gun, unless you don't count that because he was an auton

I take it we're disregarding the entire RTD era when all of England was invaded by daleks twice... (the stolen earth as well as doomsday (only London though))
There may very well be antiradiation gloves...drugs

yeah theres that too but seeing as amy didn't know what a dalek was (I think) I'd say a crack in time swallowed that bit in time, just like all the other massive "the whole world got invaded last week but all of a sudden no one believes in aliens again" thing

Well, Rory shot it before the universe was rebooted, so essentially, he hasn't yet. :P

Funny how no-one remembers Cybermen in the streets, WOTAN's War Machines rampaging across London, Yetis in the underground, Zygons, Daleks, Silurians, Sea Devils... AZAL, for God's sake...

Did none of that ever happen?

Oh wait... TED will tell us that because of the Pandorica Opens episode everything that ever happened... didn't. :?

There was that BS line in F&S where the Doctor remarks about it and says "Time can be unwritten"....as I said BS.

yeah, it mightn't have happened in a story context but I still saw it on telly so I say second time against the daleks, but feel free to disagree, it's always a personal thing on what you reckon happened or not in the story context

Well, it was technically The Big Bang that everything was eradicated from history. :)

The 7th Doctor said this to Ace in Remembrance. And also I read or heard it was all a cover up by Unit.

to be honest I don't really think it's that important why people don't remember the alien invasions, if they did everything would be so much more complicated and a bit more dull

It predates tahat, although there is also the problem that the Doctor also experienced these events but knew that nobody would remember them. The fact that a River from post-Pandorica coudl experience the events of the Byzantium as the Doctor did suggests that the events we see are not necessarily the events that happened, the TARDIS can go all over the place, and very well may end up going to several alternate timelines without even realising it and when ending up in another one the time he experienced before it is different.

Although some moments in time are fixed and cannot be altered as a result without chaotic effects. The only way to avoid this is to alter the timeline within the conditions of that fixed point. It is a peculiar fact about the Whoniverse that Steven Moffat puts down to the fact that in the Whoniverse both "free will" and "destiny" exist at the same time so the events of our lives will always happen but how we get there may change.
