Yes, the TARDIS did co-inseminate (so we are led to believe). Genetic information was passed on from the TARDIS whilst travelling through the vortex. It was the only way possible, and the only time it could've happened. Anywhere else, Rory would've been the only fathering figure.

Agreeing with you both, it is insulting our intelligence, and Moff gets -50 respect points from me for doing so.

I don't know what genetic material. I am not a Type 40 TARDIS. I am not Steven Moffat. I am not thee genetic information. Obviously, the TARDIS is of similar nature to the Time Lords, allowing individuals the opportunity to regenerate, and as we see from River's nature, she has the ability to regenerate. The TARDIS' and Time Lords are obviously of common grounds given the home surroundings, else Vastra wouldn't have so easily mistaken River's DNA for Human + Time Lord.

How could it only have been in the form of a virus? Yes, it infected the conception, and took control of half of the DNA, but at the same time it helped to create a capable, intelligent child, who keeps repeating the word "Spoilers!"...

Glad i'm not alone in thinking that, Lizard lady said she had Time Lord DNA from the vortex and i'll stick with it... Unless Moffat wants to strike me down with all of his hatred, but then his journey toward the Dark Side would be complete.
