Citadel Acrylics and a small brush mostly with a fine permanent drawing pen for the black outlines

Ah, cool. I managed to buy a WHSmith set of Acrylics and It does seem to give them a fairly good finish.

Try a Gundam marker... the lining markers are designed for models.
