I also like the use of the War Chief in Time Wyrm: Exodus... The failed regeneration was cool... and it could be applied to the burnt Master in the Deadly Assassin and also we know it's possible regenerations can fail because the fifth Doctor was afraid that was what was happening to him in the first part of Castrovalva...
Don't worry... it's the end but the moment has been prepared for... you can still find me bashing the New 52 and other things comic book related at www.ImWithGeek.com

See for me, the idea of connecting the Master and the War Chief is diminishing the amount of evil Time Lords we've seen on screen. I like the idea that they can be more Malevolent than Benevolent. Typically like Gods... the Gods in any pantheon always seem more evil than good and always out for themselves at the expense of man.

One thing i'd hate to do is diminish the amount of evil Time Lords, or even amoral ones, or even slightly naughty ones. Especially these days, given they are pretty endangered. Speaking of Timewyrm:Exodus, did you ever get the feeling that the War Chief undergoes a regeration at the end of the book before the castle collapses? Not sure if that was Dicks' intention, but it certainly reads that way.

Maybe he's the silly sod who has been making the Time-machines for the Silence! *fangasms*
