As a collector, since I've got almost all the figures up to date, I agree..39.99£ for those figures is a big waste of money, it's really not worth it, cause soon there will be a cheaper stone Dalek available somewhere else for sure. But you also have to think that there are other people, maybe young kids or not collectors, who just like DW and would like to have only a few of the new series' figures. It's also very nice as a set,it looks great, doesn't it? So let's be happy for what CO is doing and never mind the "resprays"..if they are doing them, with the variants as well, is because the success of DW 5" figures is huge (i read something about the massive profits they're making through them) and they have money to do it, plus i'm sure they also think of us collectors, making a good field for rares and exclusives. The only thing we should complain about I think is this: they haven't made an official very detailed guide of all the figures! :D

? still mostly resprays

Saw the set with the Stone Dalek today at TRU, and the Sontaran that I saw had the General's insignia with Staal's head - it looked like a straight re-release. I'm happier with my custom Commander Stark from 'TPO' - head swapped Staal's head onto Skorr's body ;) Apparently, CO couldn't even do that simple mod

Got this, but for Christmas.

Stone Dalek: Looks a bit naff, but I'll reserve judgment till I open it.
Amy: At least the eyes are looking ahead on mine this time, not to the side.
Sontaran: Seems to have more wrinkly bits on the face, as well as something resembling a beard. Don't like the kind of cheap glossiness of the body.
Roman: Same as my single release, but with a better paintjob.
Stone Roman: Looks a bit meh, but one of my favourites.
Drone: Same as single release.

Could've got the other set, but after seeing it in person, there's no real point. Had to sneakily open the box to get at this set.

I was going to buy this set and the other TRU set,but there are too many duplicates to justify it.

In the Stone set, I would only have been interested in the stone dalek anyway, and you can mod that if you want with stone paint. Anyway, there is rumoured to be another stone dalek coming out (a reactivated one with visible eye stalk) so I will wait for that and just buy the individual figures i want.

1st box set is stone dalek (interesting to me) , 2 soldiers albeit slight varients but not interesting to me, Amy in wrong costume for this episode, sontaran re-release without the slight mod to make it screen accurate, and a drone dalek that is readily available. SO i wont be buying it basically.

2nd box set has supposedly exclusive dalek eternal which wont be exclusive when paradigm wave comes out, and the only other figures i would want are out singly anyway. So i wont be buying that either. Which is a relief to my wallet, because i wasnt sure where i was going to find £80 from. But I would have found the money somehow if the box set figures were genuinley interesting figures rather than a load of repaints and re-releases.

So, in summary, i think CO need to try a bit harder.

I disagree. Generally speaking, we are not their target audience for these sets. They are aimed at completists (some of us are, I know) who will buy everything regardless, or parents looking for a Christmas present for their kids, who won't mind if they have duplicate figures.

id say they are aimed at the christmas market, for kids who dont have every figure, or for nans to pick up for the kids.
