I remember watching "Castrovalva" so vividly.

Sigh.
I saw castrovalva on dvd not that long ago, there's nothing vivid in it for you to remember

:o I shan't allow Castrovalva-bashing to occur, I greatly enjoy that serial. I you continue with this belief I shall have to call upon The Portreeve!

I didn't say I didn't like it, just said it wasn't vivid. It's all very abstract.

That's very true. Also, the original recursion effect is... lacking, to say the least.

Won't argue with either of those things. It's an idea looking for a story.

Though the new FX on the blu-day actually do sell the recursion idea in a way that original did not.

Back in 1982, all I was curious about was how Peter Davison was going to be as the Doctor.

But I suppose that's a conversation for the classic series thread.

So the Rose Prequel has been released.

It is the Eighth Doctor’s use of the moment and regeneration into the Ninth Doctor in the form of the last few pages of a target novel, originally intended for DWM in 2013 but those plans were scuppered when the Moff was like “Mate there’s a secret War Doctor”.

yeah, I read that, didn't do much for me, a lot of it was kind of word soup that is meaningless without context

Amazing it’s been 15 years since Rose today. What’s even weird to me though, is that it’s been over 10 years since the 11th hour! In my mind I see series 5 as the ‘big shift’ from the golden era of nuwho to everything else, but everything else is now 2/3rds of what we’ve had. Madness!

So anyway to market his Ive come up with my current ranking of the series. From best to worst:
Series 4
Series 3
Series 1
Series 5
Series 2
Series 12
Series 6
Series 7
Series 9
Series 8
Series 11
Series 10

My top 5 favourite stories:
Midnight
The Waters of Mars
The God Complex
Human Nature/The Family of Blood
Dalek

Top 5 worst
The Doctor, the Widow and the wardrobe
Orphan 55
In the Forest of the Night
Closing Time
Most of series 10

Doctors, best to worst:
Smith
Tennant
Eccleston
Capaldi
Hurt
Whittaker

Best to worst companions:
Donna
Rory
Jack
Martha
Amy
Mickey
Rose
Graham
Nardole
Bill
River
Yaz
Clara
Ryan
