Maybe you know this already but IDW won't accept submissions for their 3rd party liscened properties like Doctor Who, Transformers, GI Joe. Your best bet and this what we did for a Dark Horse project a few years ago which has the very same submissions guidelines as IDW. Submit for one of their own properties and get your start on that. And once you're in their stable of artists and writers then something of this magnitude can have more weight.

It's like they say in any comic worshop; saves your big idea, your sequel to Unity or your epic new series for once you're in the door of the company.
Don't worry... it's the end but the moment has been prepared for... you can still find me bashing the New 52 and other things comic book related at www.ImWithGeek.com

Van Statten: yep I know about that process.

Beast: Nope, have not tried to go to other companies as I'd run into the same problems.

IDW has the license of DW and not Daleks and yeah, they don't take anything unsolicited, which is a shame. They (and other companies) want nothing to do with you unless you're already a big name....which you can't become unless you get into one of these companies. It's a catch 22. again, a shame but there you go. with the current state of the comics world, no one is really eager to take any chances what so ever.

I'm really just doing this for the love of the show and in honor of the big 50th anniversary and when the time comes, Kasterborous and Graham Crackers comics will be showcasing the finished product. As far as trying to get my foot in the door at IDW, that's not a goal of mine. I'm not even really interested in any other properties over there and I've already got a full time job doing storyboards as well as having published and distributed (via Diamond) many a comic through my own imprint of Epoch. I've also had my stuff published at a few other places including Markosia and an upcoming project with Action Lab (Snowed In). Bottom line, I've done the comic bit. This is just the latest project that interests me.
