Besides, I don't think they'll ever make a Spider-Man film that was better than the second one
I have to say, I do see your point; the original Spider-Man was a classic, but after hearing people's comments and looking back at it it's hard to enjoy it like I did when I was younger. (The scene where Tobey Maguire lets out the highest pitch scream I've ever heard after being thrown on the floor by the Goblin still makes me crack up) That's one thing I do struggle with when getting invested in anything; as soon as people point out flaws, I can't help but see them and then overthink as to whether I do actually like the thing I'm watching. (Hell, the same happened for TASM). I think at the end of the day, Raimi's Spider-Man is the movie my childhood adored and I still have fond feelings for; although TASM seems a little more 'grounded' while still incorporating comic book elements that maybe were lacking in the originals. It feels like a more grown up film (although I don't really think it's much darker than Spider-Man, that Peter vs Goblin fight was pretty brutal), which maybe I appreciate more being a teenager? I dunno, it's tricky to say. The fact that I can identify with Garfield's Peter more than I can with Tobey's may have something to do with it. (Don't get me wrong though, Tobey put in a great performance)
As for Spider-Man 2 - I'm not sure if we can compare it to TASM, seeing as it's the first in the trilogy; I think we'll have to wait for TASM 2 to see how it fares against it. (The train scene is still one of my favourite moments though, even with Tobey's jizz face)
TL:DR - The Time Lord debates the two Spider-Man films, and comes to the conclusion that Emma Stone's absolutely gorgeous no matter what.
Of course we can compare it to TASM. They're both Spider-Man films, and even as just films they can be compared fairly. Now it wouldn't be fair for me to compare it as a sequel cause obviously there isn't one yet. But even then, I can't see it being better than Spider-Man
And yes, Emma Stone is gorgeous
