Was there ever a version of the 11 Doctors set that contained the blue tie variant of the 11th Doctor (from the crash set) instead of the red one? I seem to remember this being talked about at the time but I have no idea if it was real.
Yes. There's a ToysRUs exclusive with the blue bow tie :)
Do any pictures actually exist anywhere?

Yes you're correct, I think Deborah and Sparrow may have misread.

So I’m thinking of buying a NOTD 8th figure, but I can only really seem to find the 13 Doctor’s set version of him on ebay. I might just buy that one and then try to get some of the ‘blood’ off of his face, does anybody have any tips for doing so?
Formerly ‘chocywhovian’ thankfully I’ve matured since then 😂

I’m fairly sure the B&M one is removable as said the original ones were glued on but I remember reading they made it removal on the B&M version I had a B&M one which I removed easily as well.
That's interesting, I suspect it's more down to them using less glue or something rather than being intentional. Does it fit on river's body? Perhaps with the hair modded?
I’m not sure about that and I don’t currently have those figures to hand but I would imagine if it was an intentional change that would probably be the motivation behind it.
I remember prying the helmet off of the original VN figure, it does somewhat fit over River’s head, but the thickness of her hair ends up warping the shape of the helmet, meaning it doesn’t look right... Sadly

Hello Chocywhovian!
I've seen some people use a sponge and hot water to remove paint apps sometimes, like with the mud effect on the 5th Doctor's TARDIS from last year, but I'm definitely not an expert so don't hold me responsible if anything goes wrong 😂
