I predict....

Are Some of These Rumours True?

I predict that we wont get any new figures until August, apart from the ones that we already know about. In August we'll get a whole bunch of figures.

This year we will see maybe 2 new classic companions.. and a few repaints/remodels of each.. thrown in with an alien we haven't got yet.

We will also get a whole bunch of 11th Doctors with different hats and bow ties. These figures will then be released again and again.. including the figures that no one really wanted with the addition of this seasons gimmick. [like a white face mask and a bag of goo]
I predict that Rory will not be released as a figure seeing how he's probably leaving the show. We will probably get a figure of the new assistant.

I also predict that interest in Doctor Who will begin to die off this year and that figure sales will fall. If we don't get the sought after figures in the next 2 years.. They probably won't be made...or at least until we get the 12th Doctor Who which will mean a new line of figures. There's only so long that CO can keep making 11th doc figures until even the kids get bored.

Just predictions... not based on anything other than vodka and boredom lol

Happy St Patrick's Day :D

Hmm I'm thinking Rory as a series 7 not 6 figure.

The prototype has been around since a long time before filming began. If it is from 11.3 then it must have been cancelled and restarted from scratch which is unlikely given Moffat's interference in the matter.

Who knows, if he wears something similar they could use it for series 7 but change the colours like Peri.

Most of Rory's costumes follow a standard shape, of course there are numerous different shapes, mainly some have a jacket and occassionally a bodywarmer. If one gets made potentially many more could be produced but CO think too much of short term saving than long term and now that Rory is leaving they have essentially shot themselves in the foot because as soon as he's gone interest in him will drop and interest in the new companion will increase.

Look at the Cybermen from Attack, if CO had gone with their initial plan they would only have been able to release three figures from that story, with the correct boots five can be released (as the standard Cyberman and Cyber Leader would be different).

I agree they shot themselves in the foot by not releasing him earlier but I also think it would be dumb to release him whilst Doctor Who isn't on TV which is why I think he’ll come out around the time series 7 airs. However he could still be a series 6 figure much like how the series 5 Amelia Pond figure came out in a series 6 wave.

They won't, it's as simple as that. Look at 2009, in fact unless there is a wave a few days before Christmas chances are there just won't be one this year directly related to one of the ranges. There will be the mixed range with the talking Daleks but it's the same thing that happened in 2009.

UT have an interest in releasing more new series exclusives and chances are Rory will be one of them. If CO don't want to release him because Mickey did poorly then that is their loss for having someone who believes that male companions will fail in figure sales unless they have a spin-off show.

Tell me TED you seem remarkably well informed of what CO had planned & UT. Do you work for them then?
