That was deliberately designed and set up to allow for a resurrection though, although RTD never thought it would be him that would go through with it.

But as Steven Moffat has said, that will be up until Alex Kingston dies, as it will be for all of them (with the possible exception of Karen Gillan who doesn't ever want to return, we'll see how she feels in thirty years time I think).

A GOOD writer could figure out a way to have every character appear at once for some reason - we're talking time-travel and people who have been known to mess with other people's memories....
