I think 507 was a bit spur of the moment, but I think it means he can live forever if he regenerates. He can die, as was put forward in EoT, but I think regeneration is limitless. And there are three reasons why the Beeb won't kill the Good Doctor off after 13:

1) Have you seen the fanbase?!
2) And the more boring, real-world reason, Doctor Who pulls in massive ratings for the BBC - they won't throw away that money simple because of a throwaway line said over 20 years ago. (13 was established in Mawdryn Undead, right? That was on Doctor Five. FIVE. That gave them another Eight Doctors to wrap the show up in.) Of course, now it's back and we're running out of bodies, BBC need to think of something.
3) THE DOCTOR PWNS.

As for the Ace thing, I just thought I misheard Dorothea, but I'd forgotten that Ace's real name was Dorothy.

It was The Deadly Assassin not The Mawdryn Undead. Oh well if I ever live for over 2000 more years I can be safe in the knowledge that I can watch the adventures of the 508th Doctor now.

"'A Time Lord can live forever, barring accidents' that came first the thirteen thing was the retcon" to quote RTD. People have got it stuck in their heads that 13 is the definite limit which is showing how stupid some Whovians are. Do you lot want the show to end in the next decade? He gives us an explination and nobody believes it. Some people...

Sorry kid, I just prefer a limit to the regenerations and Barry Letts' idea of "When asked about the Doctor reaching the end... we simply say, he will find a way." and that is what makes Doctor Who so cool! The Doctor, he's more than a Time Lord, he can do anything, he can imagine and dream and achieve the impossible!
Don't worry... it's the end but the moment has been prepared for... you can still find me bashing the New 52 and other things comic book related at www.ImWithGeek.com

If im honest i think 507 suits him just fine, just becomes a problem again in the year 3679 when we need a 509th doctor
I'm gone! How tragic. It's like i'm here but asleep, only i'm not, i'm gone. Well, i might pop back when bored. If you need me though, or want me you can find me at www.ImWithGeek.com

When you think if the Doctor can Regenerate 507 times then it would be your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandchildren watching him or her. Who knows
Widnes till i die

I know i am

I'm Widnes till i die!

C'mon Widnes!!! Wire, The Pie Eaters, Saints and The Rhinos have nothing on us!

It will more likely be the 2150th anniversary to be honest. Some people did an estimate based off of over 47 years the Doctor has regenerated 10 times which was then extrapolated meaning the show should end in about 4126 so guess that would be the time o the 507th Doctor not the 508ths.

Yeah but most of them will be dead
I also think when the Doctor said he could be anything then that means he could be a woman but good episode
