I don't care about the books, CDs etc. they all contradict the show. What is wrong with Ace running a charity raising billions to help the lives of children? We never saw what happened to her in the end so it is as good a conclusion to her story as we are likely to get unless she makes an apperance.

Yes, it was a very inept continuity flub. Hopefully it will join several others, that have appeared on screen, which have later been contradicted or forgotten about.

Bound how? RTD left a loose end for The Master to return with the expectation someone else would need it to bring him back after he left. Now he went and did it himself, but he expected another to do it at first, and that was a primary character; one he had done major writing for. He was willing to let that go.

A fleeting sentence about Ace, among other characters (and possibly based on hearsay), does not make her "his".

The thing with RTD is he always leaves himself some wriggle room in a story which most people mistake for plot holes same with the Grand Mofferator. I wouldn't be suprised if the character was Ace but there is always that small chance it's not. As RTD is head of spin-offs and Moffat does not want to bring back old characters Ace could only really come back through RTD.
