Dismantled Daleks

As I don't want to end up taking over Omega's thread, I thought I'd start this new one with some pics I've taken of dismantled 12" Daleks. We start with the Product Enterprise version:



And here is the Character version, partially dismantled:



This is a close up of the head rotation mechanism. It really does work in exactly the same way as the PE Dalek.

Wow. Surprised that the NSD has removable hemis as well, since they're almost the same color, and it seems like it would be more work sticking 56 of those little buggers in place than just painting a solid outer shell, but maybe it was easier to fabricate that way.

I suppose it's easier to mould the rings in black than to paint them, because that probably would be incredibly difficult.

Fincon- do you have any pictures of the PE dalek without it’s slats? I always wondered if one could make a Dead Planet version from it.

You could, there’s just 2 screws I think and with a bit of filler and sandpaper you could easily make a dead planet dalek. I’m thinking of making an invasion of earth dalek in the future.

Sure, here you go! I think you can get away with just filling those screw holes and painting the rings. For my customs, I bought some thin plastic sheets and cut out a shape very slightly larger than those to give a more 3D effect. I spray painted them before sticking them on.
