The toy fair's purpose is to show off the latest toys so that the retailers can get a good look at them and then put orders in if they like them. It is not designed for the public and there is a "Child MUST be accompanied with an adult rule" also. It was and is not designed for the general public and you can't buy any of the items there in the first place. The "Child MUST be accompanied with an adult" rule ONLY applies if you are a trader (Your parents or family)
"policy on children
Toy Fair is a strictly trade only event and is restricted by health and safety regulations. In light of this, the decision has been taken to prohibit children under the age of 16 entering the fair. Children under the age of 5 however are permitted into the show when accompanied and supervised by an adult. Children should be kept in pushchairs where possible. Proof of age may be requested. Please note that some stands will not accommodate push chairs.
The reason behind this decision is to protect prototypes that many exhibitors bring to the show as well as to maintain a business environment for all exhibitors and visitors.
There will not be a crèche provided at the Toy Fair in 2012."
Also;
"Toy Fair is a strictly trade event and is not open to the public. It's free to all pre-registered guests and £15 on site. If you intend to bring children to the event please follow the childrens policy"
