Dalek War

Postby TV21_Dalek » Thu Dec 01, 2011 8:06 pm

At the end of series 1 of Dalek Empire from Big Finish the Daleks from the alternate universe came through the dimensional rift created by Project Infinity. We have no idea what they are like... they sound different from 'our' Daleks and Alby shouts "so, you've had a paint job!" to one of them at the start of Dalek Empire 2: Dalek War.
So this gave me carte blanch to do what I wanted... so I took a step back and thought: these Daleks will be different from our Daleks, but how different? Then I knew the answer... them! The cursed abominations from 2010... the New Paradigm! May their shells be blighted!

But what to do to make them a bit less... cuddly.
I bought a Drone and a yellow one loose and swapped out their eyes and arms for those from Ironsides. I cut the eye-stalk down so it was a bit shorter and added some rings at the base. Once completed a clear lens will be tinted green and fitted to the eye ball.
I cut off the lights and added mounts for new lights, to be added from LEDs.
I also added some small sensors to the dome in an R2D2 kind of style.

The shoulders received small lights to the annoying vertical parts as well as a small panel between the arms which will have a small power light.

On the back of the skirt I added a grille and some sockets and greebles. I have more greebles (sockets and plugs) to add to the shoulders, but not too many.

I have built new guns from Gundam Option Parts and the discs from the NP Dalek eyes. I still have some support struts to add as well as a plug to fit them to the Daleks.

Here is where I'm at so far...

So they are about 85% finished as far as construction goes.

For their colour I am going with a gunmetal grey colour, with details picked out. Why that colour? Well all of the artwork for the Daleks from our universe show them in classic silver/blue colours, so in reference to Alby's afore-mentioned repaint remark they will be a different colour.

More updates to follow.

Originally I was going to write "LOVE YOU" but instead I'll write:
"NICE DALEKS FRIEND" because I don't wanna ruin the mood...

On a serious note, Liking the Daleks!

After some other models are done... I have a few more classic Daleks to repaint, a wrecked Dalek to finish, a Spider Dalek and the stuff for my photo project to complete before I return to these (I also have more mainstream models to build)... I am no hurry to get anything done ;)

Gave up on them... seemed all rather pointless in the end.
