TD888 if you look back through this thread i retextured a fatlek model from my runtime folder and it still looked awful.
Tell you what, I'll get a cheap drone and paint it '70s grey. I'll also paint a Time War Dalek grey.

And I'll repeat what I said before... those are NOT screen-accurate Daleks, they have been redesigned. Mock-ups or not, they aren't NPDs. You can colour them green or pink and they still won't be screen-accurate NPDs.

I used an accurate model and recoloured it. It STILL looks terrible... as menacing as the Nursery Dalek from the 60s.

For a start look how much bigger the dome is on your image, it looks silly because it's too large...

If you paint a drone dalek in retro colours i can guarantee you will agree that they should look like that. Well, you'll agree that they look better that way at least.

I like them because they remind me of my all time favourite design of daleks - DIOE

It's more reminiscent than any other daleks have been!

Their bizarre proportions remind me more of later Ron Turner Dalek artwork, such as his 1990s artwork for the Dalek Chronicles cover.

The only way you can say the new Daleks resemble the Dalek Invasion Earth ones is they both have large bumpers. The new one I think is too big.
