It's just I remember watching Tom in that 3D thing - and he looked like a parody of his former charecter. Tom is an old man now, and that's the fact of it. I really like Tom as the Doctor, and I love reading anything that he says as he is so entertaining, but he is now Tom Baker (wether he likes it or not), not the Doctor.

Chris had walked before the show started.
RTD had david do the voice over for the first Who show that pre-empted the first episode. David was probably actually working on Who before ep 1 aired. Either way Chris, from what I read at the time was only ever interested in one season. Afterwards he claimed that it was a good decision to only sign for one season, as the show dominated his life for a year.

Well of course he did, all primary filming work had been completed by the time the show had started broadcasting.

It's not as though they filmed the regeneration sequence the day before it was broadcast or anything, they knew David Tennant was going to take over by that point and we all know they did regarless of whether you belive the conspiracy theories or not.

Playing the Doctor you will never escape from it. Also on the plus side your always getting money from DVD sales, toys etc.

Yes, DVD sales they get paid and action figure sales as its their likeness on the toys. Tom Baker said at Collectormainia that although he never took part in the Five Doctors they still had to pay him cause they used clips from Shada.

Even directors and writers get paid for there work. Recently in DWM Robert Banks Stewart who wrote stories such as the Zygons & Seeds of Doom said he gets money from the DVD sales etc. I know Zygons isn't out yet but just giving an example.
