Sorry for not replying sooner, I was on vacation and then my computer was broken.
The gas pump is actually a cheap money box, which also came in form of an old fashioned post mailbox or black telephone. I bought it at a local shop which had deco stuff.

Most of the Dr. Who figures you see in those pictures I bought from the same seller on ebay, and while looking through her other things I also found she offered the Wallace & Gromit set (you also can see Gromit in one of the pictures). There are two Wallaces, the woman from the wool shop, a Shaun and also those evil selfwalking trousers. I'm sure you can find something similar when googling for Wallace & Gromit figures.

Glad you liked our alien bar, we had much fun with it!

At the weekend I met with a friend and she gave me a selfmade Psychic Paper. I want to show some pictures, although I doubt it will help the Doctor much against the Cyberman (which is not an action figure but the bubble bath, that's why he is so small).

I also bought this money box which looks like an UK letter box. Unfortunately it is a bit small, but I like it nonetheless.

A Jack for everyone

Just an ordinary day in the Hub. Tosh and Gwen monitor the rift monitors. They found the equipment next door at "Primeval".

Image

Jack and Ianto snog in Jack's office. When suddenly...

Image

Image

Coat Jack: "Fingers off my Ianto!" *angry*

Light blue Jack: "What do you mean, 'my Ianto'? That's mine!" *possessive*

Image

Coat Jack: "I can't believe it. I did jump into the cold water of the bay, so the Hub would not be destroyed from the explosion, and you think you can come in here and make yourself home? Go back to the alternate reality where you came from!"

Dark blue Jack & Captain John Hart: "Hey, what's all the noise about?!?" *annoyed*

Image

Everyone: *gapes*

Image

Light blue Jack: "So YOU have the dark blue shirt! And I searched for it everyhere. Take it off immediately!"

Dark blue Jack: "Maybe later!" *winks*

Image

Tosh: "Okay, everyone quiet for a moment. I think I know what happened. When the bomb inside Jack ripped him apart, his body got rebuild from some very small pieces, replacing the missing ones. Every Jack is the right one. Your cells should communicate better with each other, to avoid multiplying!"

Image

Gwen: "But that's fantastic! Now we finally can fulfill all the wishes of the fans. There's one Jack for Ianto, one for Captain John Hart and one for myself!" *happy*

Image

Flight suit Jack: "And what about me?!" *sad*

Image

Doctor: "Well, what about me?" *waves*

Image

Flight suit Jack: "Yay!" *snogs*

Image

Only Tosh is standing alone among all the happy people around her and waits for her Owen. And she will have to wait a long time yet, since there has no actionfigure been made of him.

Image

The End

And a detailed picture of the desk:

Today I have something new for you. I used two figures of the Tenth Doctor to change them into David Tennant as Hamlet. On Saturday we sat up scenes with them, I am proud of the throne room we created. Here comes the first batch of pictures:

Hamlet actionfigure theatre part 1

Shakespeare himself gave the introduction to the play:

Image

Hamlet in the far right corner watches the festivities with sadness.

Image

Let me introduce all the people. On the left side we do have the two ambassadors:

Image

In the middle Ophelia in the yellow dress, Hamlet's mother Gertrude in blue and his uncle Claudius at her side, behind him old Polonius and some servant girl in the background.

Image

And on the right side Ophelia's brother Laertes, the Bishop (or Cardinal?) in Red robe and some nameless servant.

Image

It took a while to get Ophelia and Gertrude in her dresses. Of course, the director wants this all to happen faster, to get over and done with the scene.

Image

Image

The next scene shows friend Horatio welcomed by Hamlet with a big hug:

Image

To prove that you cannot believe one thing you see in a movie here is one shot of behind the scenes: The Horatio actor was too small and had to stand at a plate to be able to hug Hamlet. Well, it worked for Humphrey Bogart, so why not? *shrugs*

Image

That's it for today, more to come, the scene is set, let's play! For those that don't know yet the 2008 Hamlet DVD movie, here are two Screenshots of the real thing, to show what we did aim for:

Thank you both very much! If you wanna see in detail which things exactly I did change to make the two Hamlets (cut things off, added Milliput, painted) here are lots of work in progress pictures:

Changing suit sleeves into bare arms

Changing chucks into bare feet

Parts 3 and 4 are linked at the end of the entry.

I did? Really? Which figure will you use, and where can I see the outcome? Customs are so cool!

And here is the next part of my special action figure Hamlet:

Thank you all! Luckily, I had not to do it all by myself, as my friend Aker joined me for the weekend, and some of the funniest ideas like the director or the guy who sweeps the stage came from her. So, we had much fun playing, and if I can bring a smile to your face with those pictures as well, I am happy!

So, here is the second part of my special Hamlet movie:

Last time we left Hamlet when he just greeted his friend Horatio. Actually, the scene with the ghost whould be next now, but we couldn't shoot it as the actor (= Roman Soldier) was not available at the time. But as you all know, all movies are shot out of order, so we will do these scenes one day yet.

So, Hamlet swears to revenge his father, and cuts his own hand with the knife. Due to the actionfigure's limited range of mobility, we could not to the actual cut, this is as close as we got.

Image

Then Hamlet faints.

Image

The sword was made by Aker, I think it looks very good!

Image

Hamlet gets found by Horatio and the soldier who also witnessed the ghost. He lets them swear on the sword to help him.

Image

Image

After that it was time for the set guy to clean the stage. By the way, how do you like my black shiny floor? We used a black bed sheet and a plastic foil over that.

Image

Image

Image

On with the movie: Hamlet reads a book, and Polonius gets the impression that he is crazy/nuts/one fry short of a happy meal/WACKO.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Please marvel a bit longer at this nice black leather book with golden title and pages that are full with text and can be turned, as this also was made by Aker!

Image

End of this part, here are some screenshots of the movie again, for those that have not seen it and want to compare what we did:

And this is the only ghost I own, which I admit would have looked a bit silly, so we thought the Roman Soldier with the helmet would be better ;)
