Doctor Who Cosplay

Postby Racks42 » Mon Aug 06, 2018 11:09 am

I could be wrong, but it seems there is no Doctor Who Cosplay thread, so I thought I'd start one because cosplaying is a real passion of mine, i was just wandering if anyone else on here cosplays!

I recently finished my 8th Doctor cosplay which sparked the realisation that I have actually cosplayed all 14 doctors at least once!

also i run a cosplay site, with some costume tips, breakdowns and prop tutorials, and an active forum, with build diaries, break downs, reviews and much more!!

Not something I've ever actually done myself, but I always think that it looks like it would be a lot of fun. There have been a lot of costumes in various doctor who stories over the ears that I see and think "I'd happily wear that just as clothes". I have a friend who is quite into the whole cosplay scene, so who knows, I might try it some time.

An impressive cosplay collection. I've been cosplaying for about four years now, and I mainly started with the Riddler from the Batman series, but I've also cosplayed as the Twelfth Doctor. I've been collecting cosplay pieces of other Doctors for a while, including, most recently, the Eleventh Doctor's frock coat.

I haven't got any pictures at the moment, but on the 1st of September, I'm attending Scifi Wales, so I may have some pictures of my cosplay then.

I started out with the 4th Doctor back in November 2014 and it wasnt great tbh but i built my collection over the last 4 years, many many items are re-used across many cosplays, e.g. 1st doctor jacket is used on my 2nd, and 3rd doctors, my red 12 jacket is used on several different 4th doctor cosplays.

Id love to cosplay the riddler! green is my favourite colour and I love his style from the Gotham version.

My friend knits really good Tom Baker scarves, really accurate to specific points in the series apparently, he's gone crazy in-depth into all the subtle changes from story to story, he's apparently going to make one for me in exchange for the fact I seem to do all his graphic design stuff unpaid, even though that's technically supposed to be my job. So that'll be nice, the scarf is pretty much the whole costume anyway.

I just noticed that I typed "over the ears" instead of "over the years" in my last comment, I now have an image in my mind of me wearing like sarah jane's stripey dungarees as a hat.

Depending which scarf he's knitting it'll me a massive improvement on the Lovarzi one, I have both the original and S18 ones from Lovarzi and the S18 one is awful, my girlfriend knitted me a new one with better wool because I hate chenille wool, im far happier with that one, finally inspired me to produce the rest of the cosplay! The knitted one is the one pictured in my compilation!

I also dabble in graphic design, I did most of the graphics on my cosplay website.

They're really impressive, he colour matched the wool to really excessive degrees of accuracy. Like I never knew before that the "blue/grey" bits of the actual scarf are actually a warm taupe colour. I was like "no way" and when I saw the unknitted wool I was sure that was going to be the wrong colour, but once it's between two other scarf colours it's suddenly the right colour. My mind was quite comprehensively blown by that one. I don't know if he's on his second or third scarf just now, but there's definitely a S18 one getting made soon, and the s12 one was incredible.

I might get a S12 scarf made, but im not sure, I quite like the one I already have!

I dont quite know what im going to do next cosplay wise, i might attempt to make a 13 coat, but other than that all i can think of is just upgrades essentially.

A brown 7th doctor coat and a new 7 hat would be nice.
