Skiffle's Scruffy Customs

Post by skifflebits »

Never been that good at this customizing business, but every so often I manage a passable repaint or two.

Here's my latest stab: A young War Master with a young War Doctor.

Young War Doctor is a straight-up repaint of mostly his hair, jacket, and scarf. For the Young War Master I used the arms and cloak from a "Sherwood" Little John figure. I felt like this outfit was more Time Lordy than the one that Big Finish used on their audio covers. (Just why would the Master dress like he's from Victorian England, when he's not hanging out in Victorian England for the Time War, and has no love for the Earth like the Doctor does, hmmm?)

The bumpy texture of the cloak makes my paint job look more nuff than it is. I tried putting a very dark red wash on it to give it more "color texture," but that didn't work out so well. I did, however, paint the cloak interior a red to match his waistcoat, though, of course, you can't see it at all in these photos. Sigh.

Aw, thanks for the kind worlds, folks!

I'll be posting their live tour dates as soon as the clubs are booked. :)

Found some images of the custom console room I made out of a repainted Junkyard TARDIS console and Mezco's 20,000 Leagues playset. Always meant to change that image behind the porthole to the spacetime vortex or something.

That works quite well as an early/mid Tom interior, it's suitably gothic and moody. I can just imagine Philip Hinchcliffe getting excited.

It does feel very Hinchcliffe, doesn't it?

I was thinking about repurposing it as a Master's TARDIS for display purposes, but I never got around to it.

Well, since I imgured this picture I may as well post it in my scruffy customs section.

Destiny Romana II from a Sarah Jane General Kuldick (or whatever his name is) figure set, an Amy Pond head, and I totally forget where the hair came from.
