My guess is the rereleases won't go as quickly as the original "collector's " sets with the bigger/nicer packaging. You probably won't miss one even if you're a little late to the game.

Yeah, I'm hopeful, I pre-ordered s19 back when it went up for preorder, that was a couple of months back and it's still available. My friend is getting me s12 for my birthday, which fortunately I know so I don't accidentally double buy, which is good since I only had enough for one at the time.

I mean, honestly I do appreciate the releases having a bit of urgency. The original DVD range took what, 15+ YEARS to get everything out? VHS wasn't much better, I think that wrapped up in the late 90s as the format was about to hit its last legs. (Pretty sure the video range started in '83 or '84.)

I was hoping they would rerelease them and I'm happy they're using standard Blu Ray cases, as I hate the cardboard ones.

On a related note, my preorders of series 12 & 19 came yesterday. YAY!

Series 10 & 18 are up for pre order on Zavvi and Amazon, for a July 5th release. £37.99 each with a couple of quid postage from the former.

My reissued stripped back s19 dvd arrived on Saturday, though I'm away, so I just have to take their word for it that it's there, until I get back. But today I got refunded £2 of the price, and I'm really not sure why. But it's always welcome, my pockets seem to be constantly empty.

Can I talk for a moment about Sabalom Glitz? As a kid, I loved him, but I watched some TOTL not too long ago, and I'm seeing him... differently.

Yeah, the character is still good comic relief. But the idea that Glitz is a hardened criminal is just too ridiculous to accept. At some point he mentions murdering someone in prison. I thought, Really? That guy is so squishy the only thing he's ever murdered is a plate of pies.

Did Tony Selby get the gig on his comedy skills alone, or was he a shoo-in because he looked uncannily like the producer?
