Doctor Who Milestone

Post by skifflebits »

I'm surprised we didn't talk about this earlier. Not that there's a whole lot to actually say, I suppose.

On July 14th, Doctor Who has officially been back longer than it was off the air. It's been longer since the airing of "Rose" to the present than the gap between the last episode of "Survival," and the debut of the new series.

Who'da thought, eh?

It really puts into perspective how long that wilderness really was, for fans that weren't born yet, or were too young to remember DW before it was cancelled.

Ponder that we've hit a point that for anyone born after 2000, it probably seems like Doctor Who has just "always" been on, much like I'm sure it was by the late 70s.

I do not remember a time without doctor who. The most I’ve had to endure is the year gap between certain series like series 9-10 or 11-12

Similarly, by the time it came back for most people born from about 1985 onward it had just always been off
