"The design of these Daleks is influenced by the livery of the black domed Emperor's Guard and drone Daleks from the 60’s TV serial of the same name", quote taken from the back of the packaging. The "Dalek collector sets feature both classic and new Dalek designs and styles inspired by these adventures".

In the 5" scale, Character first released the Emperor's Guard Dalek as seen in 'Evil of the Daleks' (1967) in Dalek Collectors Set #2 in 2009. It was rereleased with green-coloured dome lights in May 2013 in The Second Doctor with Dalek twinpack.
